A handwritten Quran attributed to Imam Hossein
One of the valuable works preserved in the library of Golestan Palace is a part of the exquisite Qur'an belonging to the first Islamic centuries, which bears "Hussein bin Ali" inscription and a stamp mark attributed to Shah Ismail Safavi. This version, which consists of eight pages detached from the complete Qur'an, is written in beautiful Kufic script and decorated with gilded edges.
These eight pages of sixteen lines (335 x 165 mm) contain verses from Surahs Nesa, Enfal, Towbeh, Yunes and Hud surah which are bound irregularly.
The first page contains the last verse of Yunes Surah and the beginning verses of Hud Surah. The next pages contain verses from Hud, Nesa, Enfal, Towbeh, Yunes, respectively.
