Introducing the work on the occasion of Eid Ghadir Khumm 🔸 Manuscript of Khavaran Nameh / religious epic poem 🔸 Ibn Hessam Khosfi Birjandi

The manuscript of Khavaran Nameh is a religious epic poem written by Ibn Hessam Khosfi Birjandi in 22500 verses and it is about the battles of Hazrat Ali and his companions. This very valuable copy was written in Ibn Hessam's period, which increases the richness of the manuscript. Six years after his death, the illustration of the manuscript was done.

This version was illustrated in Shiraz by Farhad Naqash in the style of Shiraz Turkmens.

The manuscript of Khavaran Namah, which was transferred from the Mir Emad Museum to the Royal Library of Golestan Palace, is currently kept in an acid-proof container and in very good condition, and by installing a data logger in the manuscript repository, the humidity and temperature levels are observed and reported every day.

Currently, this version has 290 pages of verses and 155 illustrations. Illustrations have been made on the subjects of battles and bravery of Hazrat Ali and his companions.

Based on the seals it has, the manuscript of Khavaran Nameh probably belongs to the state accountants of the Royal Library of Shiraz and has not been in the Royal Library of Golestan Palace since the beginning of the creation of the work, and no seals of the librarians and state accountants of the Royal Library of Golestan Palace can be seen in it.

The art of miniature and illustrating the copy was founded by the Turkmens in Shiraz, and its illustrator was Farhad Naqash Shirazi.

Before entering the Golestan Palace, this copy belonged to the Museum of Decorative Arts, which was purchased by the Rahimi brothers, and it was first moved to the Mir Emad Museum and then to the Golestan Palace around 1991.

The detached pages of Shiraz copy were given to collectors and museums around the world, and currently 290 pages of verses and 115 pages of illustrations are kept in the Royal Library of Golestan Palace.
