The goals and duties of the conservation and restoration workshop in two executive departments are:

 

A: Actions and duties of the workshop:

1- Taking necessary measures for preventive and urgent protection of works and properties in museums and repositories

2-Presenting the program of research priorities of the works

3- Studying the techniques which were used in the works and recognizing damages

4- Cooperating with property trustees and providing solutions and restoration programs for equipping, organizing and preparing repositories

5- Supervising and guiding the student projects of the Golestan Palace complex

 

B: Goals and duties of the workshop

The operation of protection and restoration of works in the restoration workshop of Golestan Palace for presentation to domestic and foreign exhibitions (Louvre France), which includes paintings, royal cameras, manuscripts, etc., is still ongoing.

It should be noted that the Golestan Palace conservation and restoration workshop was opened on May 16, 2017 with the presence of the high ranking managers of the Cultural Heritage Organization. The stages of setting up this workshop were carried out in two phases, optimizing the workshop space, as well as equipping the workshop and laboratory with the aim of carrying out specialized activities of restoration of paintings, books and valuable documents of the Golestan Palace complex.

This complex has two workshop spaces for organic and mineral materials and a laboratory space for biology and chemistry to conduct studies and doing technical research and identifying damages on the collection of works of Golestan Palace. The aim of opening this workshop has been creating research infrastructure and connect Golestan Palace restoration laboratory to the strategic technology laboratory network system of the scientific deputy of president’s office through the Internet. It can also be used by researchers, students in the field of technical and historical studies of works at the master's and doctorate level, and it is enable those interested to access this information through computer software outside the palace complex.
